Apple’s Market Cap Tickles $400 Billion

Apple’s not the most valuable company in the world yet; that title remains Exxon Mobil’s.

But Apple is fast closing in on it.

With its share price charting a new all-time high Thursday, the company‚Äôs market cap passed the $400 billion mark for the first time ever before slipping back in afternoon trading. It’s still within spitting distance of that milestone, though.

That said, it’s got a fair bit of ground to cover before it matches Exxon or surpasses it. The oil giant currently has a market cap of about $417 billion.
