Microsoft’s Sinofsky on Windows RT Collaboration With Samsung, et al.

Microsoft‘s Windows guru Steven Sinofsky, the president of the Windows and Windows Live division at the company, today posted a rather long blog item, in conjunction with the company’s “ecosystem and planning team” veep Mike Angiulo, in which he discusses a raft of PCs coming from Asustek Computer and others, running on the Windows RT version of the forthcoming Windows 8 operating system release.

RT is the version built to run on microprocessors from Nvidia, Qualcomm and Texas Instruments, using the technology of ARM Holdings, as opposed to models using Intel‘s and Advanced Micro Devices’ processors.

“Along with Asus, we are excited to share that there will be ARM-based PC designs from Dell, Lenovo, and Samsung running Windows RT,” writes Sinofsky.
