In case you missed anything, here’s a quick roundup of the news that powered AllThingsD this week:

  1. As expected last week, Yahoo bought Tumblr for $1.1 billion in cash. And according to WordPress CEO Matt Mullenweg, some 72,000 blog posts were ported from Tumblr to WordPress within an hour of the news.
  2. As people who write about Tumblr often note, the blogging site has a lot of porn — here’s why Yahoo doesn’t think that’s a problem.
  3. OK, one more story about Yahoo (the company made a lot of news this week), and then we’ll move on to other things: Hot off the successful Tumblr acquisition, Yahoo also submitted a bid for Hulu this week, though it’s one of many suitors.
  4. During an appearance before the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, Apple CEO Tim Cook said the company would invest $100 million to build Macs in Texas.
  5. In AllThingsD’s Voices section, Wetpaint CEO Ben Elowitz writes that our ability to generate, collect and store data has exploded — but that “shockingly little happens to the information once it has been stowed.”
  6. Caterpillar (yes, the heavy machinery company) is jumping into the phone business with a rugged, waterproof Android phone.
  7. Samsung’s new flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4, is the fastest-shipping in the company’s history.
  8. Microsoft unveiled its new gaming and media console, the Xbox One, at an event in Redmond, Wash. But for those of you who were hoping otherwise, the all-in-one device won’t kick the cable guy out of your house.
  9. Turnover in the tech world is fast and furious. Square lost two execs this week, including a well-known former PayPal exec who hadn’t even started yet.
  10. And finally, one of our favorite videos this week: Jon Stewart’s hilarious, exasperated reaction to the fawning reception Tim Cook received from the Senate. The Apple CEO shouldn’t expect the same softballs when he appears at D11 this week.
