Mobile Chip Maker Movidius Raises $16 Million

Movidius, a company that specializes in making low-power imaging processor chips for mobile devices, announced Wednesday that it raised a $16 million series D round of funding. The round was led jointly by Atlantic Bridge, DFJ Esprit and Robert Bosch Venture Capital, and included participation from existing investors Capital E, AIB Seed Capital Fund and other private investors. The company will use the funds to build out its research and development team based in San Mateo, Calif.
