Oculus VR Plans Three-Week Game Jam to Make Virtual-Reality Games

Oculus VR, maker of the unreleased but much anticipated virtual-reality gaming headset Oculus Rift, said today that a three-week “VR Jam” in August would award cash prizes to Rift developers. The event, a spin on typically much shorter “game jam” events, is the result of a partnership between Oculus and the independent games festival IndieCade. Twenty finalists will win at least $500, with two grand-prize winners scoring $10,000 cash, plus a pass to IndieCade in Los Angeles this October and a visit to Oculus VR’s headquarters in Irvine, Calif.
