China Journalist Group Hit With Cyberattack

An international journalists association in Beijing said Friday that its Web site was the target of cyberattacks, the latest in a string of incidents that have affected foreign journalists in China. The Foreign Correspondents Club of China said in a statement that it disabled its Web site temporarily to deal with the problem after it experienced persistent attacks over two days involving a flood of traffic that overwhelmed its servers.

Chinese Users Report New Google Disruptions

China’s government appeared to block almost all searches by Chinese users on Google Inc. sites Tuesday, sharply escalating the battle with the U.S. Internet giant a week after it stopped obeying Beijing’s censorship rules. Users in cities across China starting late Tuesday afternoon reported that all searches–even of terms as mundane as “happy”–on Google’s Hong Kong site produced an error message saying the results page couldn’t be opened.
