AMD Deleted From Standard & Poor’s 500 Index

Shares of chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices will be taken off the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index beginning Sept. 20. The move was disclosed by S&P Dow Jones Indices. The change comes a day after Hewlett-Packard was taken off the list of 30 stocks that comprise the Dow Jones Industrial Average. AMD will be moved to the S&P MidCap 400.
