AOL: Puff Daddy Parties and Cockroaches on NPR

BoomTown is winging across the country right now to New York City to attend, among other things, the analog version of the AOL spinoff from Time Warner. There is a party at the New York Stock Exchange with Diddy, the ringing of the bell and BoomTown videos of it all, of course. How investors will like AOL is the billions-of-dollars question. Until then, here is an interview I did with NPR on the whole shebang.

AOL to Spin Off Dec. 9, Begin Trading Dec. 10 (Plus Full Press Release)

AOL will officially be spun off from Time Warner on Dec. 9, with trading to begin the next day. Shareholders of record at 5 pm ET on Nov. 27 will get one share of AOL for every 11 shares of Time Warner on the day of the long-expected spinoff of the Internet service. AOL will trade on the New York Stock Exchange as “AOL,” just like the old days. Unlike the old days: Time Warner has given the company an implied valuation of a little more than $3 billion.
