Viral Video: The JaneDear Girls Hook Up With the Lip-Synch Phenom on YouTube

BoomTown is officially voting for the JaneDear Girls, after seeing the hot country duo’s effective use of Keenan Cahill, a.k.a. the weird little lip-synch dude on YouTube. While the pair–Susie Brown and Danelle Leverett–have been rocketing up the country charts with their self-titled debut album, they delivered a rap-style offering, called “Need Ya Vote,” using the odd Cahill’s talents.

But not everyone is. According to sources close to the situation, the Washington, D.C.-based company that also focuses on local deals is in advanced talks for a major strategic investment–as high as $150 million–by online retail giant Amazon, at a very hefty valuation of over one billion dollars, to counter a possible Groupoogle challenge.

Nokia N8 Ships

Market availability will vary by country and carrier, but Nokia’s N8–the first smartphone running the company’s new Symbian 3 operating system–is headed to market after some delay. Last week Nokia warned that preorder customers who’d expected to receive the N8 by September’s end would now have to wait until October, offering no explanation for the delay. So to hear that the device is actually on the trucks is good news for those looking to purchase them and for Nokia and its shareholders as well. At $10.14, the company’s stock is up 3.26 percent with the news.

Viral Video: Tim McGraw Tosses Rowdy Fan

Here’s another viral video that is making the rounds this week of country singer Tim McGraw himself ejecting a rowdy fan from a concert earlier this week. This video, taken by another concert-goer, was from a McGraw performance at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, Wash. It shows McGraw hauling a man by the belt out of the front row, after McGraw alleged he saw the man hit a woman.

BoomTown Choice Brad Paisley Rockets to No. 1

Back in July, BoomTown flagged country song “Online” as a surefire hit. The video of the song by Brad Paisley from his recent “5th Gear” album had just topped the iTunes chart with its star-studded cast, which included Jason Alexander, William Shatner, Kellie Pickler and the original Marcia Brady, Maureen McCormick. It was a feat [...]

Brad Paisley Is a Nerd

Or at least the hip-swiveling, guitar-picking country music star understands them. The video of Paisley’s song, “Online,” from his recent “5th Gear” album, recently topped the chart on iTunes, something no country selection had ever done. It could have been the star-studded cast, which included Jason Alexander, Estelle Harris and Patrick Warburton of “Seinfeld,” as [...]
