A “Project on Creativity With American Artist Chuck Close,” according to a party invite for the iconic online service’s 25th anniversary that the company just sent out. I have calls in to the chiseled-cheekbone exec find out what that means. But extra points for putting AOL and creativity in the same sentence without even a trace of irony!

While the film adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert’s hit book, “Eat Pray Love,” has exactly zero rock-em-sock-em blockbustery feel, unlike all the others being released this summer, its trailer is gaining in popularity online. The movie, which stars Julia Roberts, is about a woman in search of, well, herself, via copious travel.

Today, BoomTown is loading the wife and kids, along with mom, into our tricked-out All Things Digital Winnebago and heading to Park City, Utah, for the 26th Sundance Film Festival. Now, what I know about independent filmmaking could fit neatly into a thimble, with room to spare. But what has brought me back there for five years running is the chance to introduce those auteurs gathered on the frozen tundra to a slice of what’s to come from the digital world.
