Drugstore.com Buys Into Social With Stores on Facebook

Drugstore.com and its subsidiary site, Beauty.com, has launched stores on Facebook to allow users to share with their friends what they purchased –from collapsible cupcake holders to Anti Monkey Butt Powder (available in the “hard to find” category). The stores, which are found in Facebook’s apps section, were built by Adgregate Markets’ ShopFans platform. The two e-commerce sites, which collectively have 182,000 Facebook fans, eventually kicks consumers out to their homepage to finalize the purchase.

In Case You Missed It: The CNBC Interview With Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz (Yes, She Disses Facebook, and No Trinket-Calling!)

Earlier this week, Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz was all over the place talking up the company on the occasion of its 15th birthday. Here’s a video of a longish interview she did with CBNC where she cracks wise a lot, but says little. My favorite part: When the interviewer oddly asks if Yahoo is a trinket and Bartz pipes up that it is a bracelet!

The Motorola CLIQ: WINR or LOZR?

Motorola has finally announced its bet-the-company Android handset. At GigaOM’s Mobilize 09 event in San Francisco this morning, Sanjay Jha, Motorola’s co-CEO and CEO of the company’s handset division, uncrated the CLIQ, a device it describes unremarkably as the “first phone with social skills.”
