Coming to a City Near You: Apple to Do Tech Talks

With its June Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco selling out immediately, Apple said that — along with posting videos of the event — it would also be hosting “Tech Talks in a city near you.” No details yet, it sounds like the tech giant is going into the concert business for geeks again — it had done such talks with Apple developers at the time of the iOS 5 release.

Twitter to Hold Mobile Developer Event (Just Ahead of Facebook)

Nearly two weeks before Facebook holds a series of mobile developer events, Twitter announced on Monday it will host its own mobile-focused developer event at its San Francisco headquarters on April 2, where the company will preview new features in store for its platform. The invite specifically calls for developers, product managers and designers “working on a product with a mobile presence” to attend. Sadly, press is not invited.

Facebook Plans News Feed Redesign Event

Facebook plans to hold an event to unveil a new look for its News Feed product, the company said on Friday in a series of emailed invitations to the press. The event will be held on March 7 at Facebook’s Menlo Park, Calif., headquarters. This is the second major event the company has hosted at its home base this year, after introducing its Graph Search product in January.
