Yahoo this week will begin allowing users to participate on its properties without signing in to a Yahoo account. It’s a significant move for the company, which had for a long time incessantly popped up login screens whenever visitors tried to do seemingly anything on the site.

It’s hard to say what’s going on in this trailer for a Hollywood movie titled “Sucker Punch,” skedded to come out next spring, except to say it is full of even more heavy-duty special effects and–bonus!–lady warrior action. All I can see is yet another movie that relies even more on digital manipulation, but it does look cool.

According to numerous sources inside and outside the company, Yahoo is poised to slam dunk–I apologize, but sports puns are so easy–an acquisition of an online sports site this week. And, predicted several of those sources, it is likely to be San Francisco-based Citizen Sports, a maker of popular apps and games that allow fans to interact on the Apple iPhone and Facebook.

Here’s the new trailer for the upcoming videogame-to-live-action Disney fantasy adventure movie, “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.” It still looks an awful lot like a videogame and is chock full of special effects–but the adaptation also seems to feature much in the way of shirtlessness and mascara-wearing on the part of star Jake Gyllenhaal.
