Here is a video that spoofs a video online retail giant Amazon made recently for its Amazon Studios. Under the new program, Amazon will hand out cash to filmmakers for development and also provide a platform on the site to put their work, which others can review and even revise. In other words, easy to make fun of by Hollywood types.

Jim Cameron, famed Hollywood director, producer and writer–he of the “Avatar” juggernaut–has agreed to an onstage interview at the eighth D: All Things Digital conference in June and talk tech in movies for our digital audience. But let’s hope none of the D8 attendees go as far as the dudes and dudettes in this video, after the jump, who manage to take total nerd much more seriously than you can imagine.

On Friday, BoomTown was back at the Sundance Film Festival for the fifth time for my annual techie panel at the famous independent film confab. This year, we opened the New Frontier on Main series with a session titled “Spotlight on Social Media: Successful Strategies for Storytellers.” Here are my interviews on this and more with three of the panelists, as well as thoughts from my mother, who most recently was bashing Twitter in this column. She’s at it again, although she said she would be happy to watch a movie via magic glasses.

This week’s viral video is for filmmaker Michael Moore’s latest, which takes direct aim at the banking bailout. Called “Save Our CEOs,” the teaser notes: “This time it’s personal.” Well, Moore is always personal, so slapping around Wall Street and the politicians responsible for the econalypse should be interesting, to say the least.
