O.co Partners With Priceline to Relaunch Shuttered Travel Site

O.co, the Salt Lake City-based company also known as Overstock.com, has partnered with Priceline.com’s partner network to provide deals on hotels, flights and car rentals. The retailer’s foray into travel is its second. In March, it launched a vacations tab, but put it on hold a few months later after a third-party relationship did not work out. The new site, called O.co Travel, will offer Priceline’s “Name Your Own Price” feature.

Gilt City Sells 3,300 Virgin America Flight Packages in 24 Hours

Gilt City, which offers local deals on restaurants, spas and other products and services, said that — in a partnership with Virgin America — it was able to sell 3,300 flight packages within 24 hours, at a cost of between $428 and $3,585 apiece. The packages included premium seats that offered more legroom, one checked bag, and free snacks, drinks and movies. Buyers had their pick of multiple flights based on their destination. The offer went live on Wednesday and officially ends tomorrow.

Expedia Lands Deal With American Airlines

Expedia has mended its relationship with American Airlines, allowing the online travel agency to resume selling the company’s flights to customers effective immediately. Expedia dropped the airline’s listings in January after a dispute over terms. American continues to negotiate with other travel companies, such as Sabre Holdings and Orbitz. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but Expedia’s stock took off today, trading up 29 cents, or about 1.3 percent, to close at $22.72 a share.
