Opinion-Sharing App Startup Polar Raises $1.2 Million
Polar, an app made for sharing opinions and polling your friends, announced a new funding round of $1.2 million today, and released a new version of the application, now available for download in Apple’s App Store. Investors in the round include Jerry Yang at AME Cloud Ventures (formerly of Yahoo, of course), John Lilly at Greylock Partners, Maynard Webb from Webb Investment Network, Ash Patel at Morado Ventures, Sam Pullara (formerly of Twitter) and others.

Prismatic Banks $15 Million in Venture Capital
Social news reading app Prismatic announced a new Series A round of venture funding on Wednesday, banking another $15 million. Participating in the round were Accel Partners, Jim Breyer and Yuri Milner. The Prismatic app is something of a hybrid between Zite, Flipboard and other news apps, using your social channels to personalize the type of news that appears in your feed.

Google Ventures-Backed Start-Up TrueLens Nabs $1.2 Million
Social analytics start-up TrueLens announced Monday that it closed a $1.2 million round of funding led by Google Ventures. Other participants in the round include Charles River Ventures, Common Angels, 500 Startups and Boston Seed, as well as a handful of other angel investors. After compiling and analyzing data from multiple social networks, TrueLens offers more granular customer information to brands for marketing campaigns.
