Here’s the latest edition of the excellent “Drunk History” series, this time a star-laden exclusive for Funny or Die, featuring meme-darling-of-the-moment Ryan Gosling and his ample supply of quizzical looks. Plus, a pink-cheeked Jim Carrey, and a brief moment with Eva Mendes.

(The “Drunk History” setup is that a funny person drinks a lot and then tries to recite or retell something well known, in this case the poem “A Visit from St. Nicholas”; and then other funny people reenact the event according to the drunk version. Most likely NSFW.)

Meanwhile, here’s another altered version of the poem, read by Jim Meskimen in the style of more than 20 famous actors and personalities, including Woody Allen, John F. Kennedy and Robin Williams. (Meskimen does a good Arianna Huffington, which is something you hear an awful lot of people in the tech world try to pull off these days.) No f-bombs in this one:

Of all the Hollywood celebs who lurk around the Web trying to figure it all out, comedian Will Ferrell has maintained a pretty consistent level of funny.

And so it is with this video for Funny or Die — the comedy site Ferrell co-founded — that he is not even in (although it is chock-full of famous comics). It’s about Ferrell winning the 2011 Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

One of my secret pleasures is the TLC cable television show “Toddlers & Tiaras,” which says it “showcases the competitive world of child pageants,” or — in my estimation — is a horrifyingly riveting glimpse into the deepest recesses of humanity.

That would be a three-year-old girl channeling Britney.

Thus, this fantastic mocking of it by Funny or Die — starring a grown-up version of a tiara tantrum — is about as pitch-perfect and hysterical as it gets:

This is perhaps the most perfect commentary on the overwrought hue and cry over Netflix raising its prices recently on DVD-by-mail rentals.

While any hike on costs is annoying, I actually just had to talk one high salaried dude down from the ledge, after I pointed out the new monthly price for the online video service was less than he spent at the Starbucks that day on a needlessly elaborate latte.

Kudos to Funny or Die for uncovering “literally the worst thing that has ever happened to white people”:

But before you hit play, do be warned that there’s bit of cursing at the end. And perhaps more problematic for some of you, what appears to be some (brief) interspecies sex, right around the 55-second mark. So bear that in mind:

This is strangely funny–Will Ferrell, who did that genius impersonation of former President George W. Bush on “Saturday Night Live,” returns to Funny or Die to report from a Sizzler buffet bar about a gopher raid.

And, oh yes, that Osama bin Laden thing too.

Oh my.

This one is certainly a doozie Funny or Die spoof on the online video sensation of the babbling babies, featuring two pasty and pudgy dudes in the roles of the chatty twins.

Yes, one is actor Michael Chiklis.

BoomTown is still cracking up over this video, another in the faux television talk show series on Funny or Die called “Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis.”

His genius of an unlikely pairing this outing: Reality star Tila Tequila and Jennifer Aniston.

Aniston has become tiresome of late, due to the relentless press junketeering around her new movie with Adam Sandler called “Just Go With It.”

But somehow it works here for the consistently out-of-control Tequila to be on the same level as the perpetually pent-up and pinched Aniston, along with Galifianakis’s oddly put questions about the nuclear destruction of Rhode Island and a man dressed as a Speed Stick.

YouTube reminds us that porting games to the real world, and capturing it on camera, is a rich tradition.

The set-up for this new Funny or Die video, described thus, is flawless:

“Jewel, disguised as a mild mannered businesswoman, drops by a local karaoke bar and performs some of her classic songs to a completely dumbfounded audience.”

It’s been so popular, with 2.8 million views so far since it debuted six days ago, the concept might even become a new reality television show.

Here is a new Funny or Die comedy video of reality TV show star Heidi Montag spoofing her plastic surgery-addled obsession with silicone.

It is sort of funny and sort of creepy and even a little sad. Nonetheless, Montag and her even odder husband, Spencer Pratt, are certainly game to make themselves the subject of mockery.

Here are just two of what I expect will be a bazillion spoofs online about the new iPad from Apple (AAPL).

Some will doubtlessly be funnier than others about the tablet computer device–I like this Pee-wee Herman one a lot, which is the first one below, but then I like anything that freaky little dude does.

Yesterday, BoomTown posted some of the very funny spoof videos related to MTV’s appalling-yet-riveting “Jersey Shore” that have been popping up online.

Here is an even better one, with some of the actual cast members of the reality television show perfectly mocking themselves in yet another terrific Web video from Funny or Die, which seems to be on a roll of late.

The video contemplates the very deep concept of what if “Jersey Shore” is all a joke that those dopes are actually in on.

Incredibly, Mike “The Situation” (it’s all about his very nice abs, seen above), Pauly D (it’s all about his gel-saturated hair) and Snooki (it’s all about her hair too, except it’s the poof) do a surprisingly good job of acting.

Whatever you think of “Jersey Shore,” the blithely offensive reality television show on MTV, its broad-brush depiction of Italian-Americans makes it perfect for online video spoofing.

Thus, here is the best of them from Funny or Die.

It’s a clever technology-fueled transformation of actress Alyssa Milano into Snooki, the program’s dumb-as-a-box-of-hammers “guidette.”

You’ve been able to get Funny or Die clips on YouTube before, of course, but only with some effort–until now, the site has tried to keep views on its site or with its proprietary player.

That only worked in limited doses, though, so it makes plenty of sense for the site to expose its videos to a much larger audience. But note that even Funny or Die is trying to preserve a “windowed” approach to video distribution: Its clips will still premiere on the Funny or Die site before moving over to its YouTube channel.

This isn’t nearly as important as deals Google’s (GOOG) site has already struck with providers like CBS (CBS), Disney (DIS), Time Warner’s (TWX) Turner, and Sony (SNE).

But it does provide me with a chance to run a YouTube clip featuring Will Ferrell. Warning–Mark Wahlberg drops a couple F-bombs in the last 30 seconds of this one:

The issue of gay marriage is always good for controversy and lots and lots of rancorous lobbying on both sides of the issue. These days, of course, that includes a battle of online videos.

A few weeks ago, a group called the National Organization for Marriage put out a striking video commercial called “A Gathering Storm.”

In it, with a backdrop of menacing clouds, a clutch of people talk about their fears about allowing gay marriage.

It has garnered 576,319 views so far.

Now, a passel of celebrities on the Funny or Die comedy Web site has released a spoof version of the NOM commercial, called “A Gaythering Storm.”

It features a “gay rain army” and a giant gay repellent umbrella. Oh, snap.

It has 440,616 views, although it just went up yesterday.

Look, BoomTown will admit it: I am riveted to the trials and tribulations of one former child actor moppet gone wild upon growing up.

I mean to say Lindsay Lohan, of course–or LiLo or La Loca Lohan or Lindsanity, as online gossip blogger Perez Hilton has dubbed her.

Whatever her personal turmoil, the troubled actress has been the patron saint of the Web’s gossip sites, as well as magazines and more, most recently for the spectacular and restraining-orders-all-around breakup she has had with DJ Samantha Ronson.

So where did Lohan go to get some control of the crazed situation back?

Why the Internet, of course, with a pretty funny video of a spoof of an eHarmony online dating ad that is now posted on the Web’s celebrity-comedy central, Funny or Die.

The video has had 1.6 million views there already, after just being posted yesterday. In it, Lohan references her Internet infamy.

“I’m an actress, a singer, an entrepreneur and I have single-handedly kept 90 percent of all gossip Web sites in business,” she says in the video at one point, doing a very good job, considering the topic, which only reminds us that she was once a very promising actress.

Then Lohan sums it up with a flourish:

“So, if you think you can handle a redhead with a little bit of sass, and by that I mean a redhead that’s crazy… I mean don’t pretend like you don’t know me, we’ve all read about it! We’ll crash a few parties, a car or two, but at the end of the day, I promise you, I never lose my Google hits–just my underwear.”

Google (GOOG) must be completely relieved by that news.

Here’s HBO’s clever attempt: Use an existing video that’s already popular on Google’s (GOOG) YouTube and try to piggyback off of that.

Time Warner’s (TWX) pay cable channel’s “Flight Of The Conchords,” its comedy series about two Kiwi slacker/musicians trying to make it in New York, is already a YouTube sensation. So no need to reinvent the wheel: To promote the new season of the show, the channel is asking the site’s users to lip-synch their own versions of one of the show’s most popular clips.

The carrot: The best versions, collected here, will get mashed into a best-of compilation clip that will air after one of the new shows next year. To get things moving, Deep Focus, the interactive ad agency running the campaign for HBO, bought ads on a handful of video Web sites that specialize in comedy clips. And those sites in turn created their own versions, using sort-of-well-known folks like Andy Dick and College Humor’s Jake Hurwitz and Amir Blumenfeld.

The promotion just kicked off last week, so it’s too early to tell whether any of the new clips will take off–and more important, bring HBO more viewers and/or subscribers. But at least give the channel credit for trying to harness the audience that YouTube and others have aggregated.

The video has a star-studded cast, all singing Marc Shaiman’s “Prop 8–The Musical,” including Jack Black (as, um, Jesus), Neil Patrick Harris, John C. Reilly, Margaret Cho, Allison Janney and others.

It’s set as a musical being presented by the Sacramento Community College Players.

Prop 8, a ballot initiative passed in the November election in California, eliminated the right of gay and lesbian people to marry by overriding a state Supreme court decision and changing the state Constitution.

It is currently undergoing legal challenge.

Famous-for-being-famous celebrity Paris Hilton continues her comic run for “fake” President of the United States, with a new online video for the Funny or Die comedy site.

She is pictured here in a photo from a current spread in Harper’s Bazaar, part of her ongoing “Paris for President” campaign.

In that article, Hilton said of her foreign policy platform: “I will carry out a foreign policy platform that will transform America’s role in the world to that of a proactive, not reactive, superpower that will use diplomacy and incentives to head off trouble in unstable regions before they unravel out of control. I will also be wearing platform shoes when I meet with foreign dignitaries to accentuate my well-toned calves.”

Somehow, given the current mess we are in, this blather actually makes some sense.

Hilton did her first online spoof video in August after Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain used her image in an ad attacking Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama.

In it, she referred to McCain as the “white-haired dude” and laid out–literally, Hilton is seen in the video lounging by the pool in a bikini–her policies.

In the latest, Hilton consults the most famous of fake Presidents, actor Martin Sheen, who played President Jed Bartlett for many seasons on the NBC hit “The West Wing.”

In the video, the pair kibitz over how to be the best fake President, which has been getting too close to the real thing these days.

The video includes a cameo by real Martin Sheen son, Charlie Sheen.
