Dataminr Raises $13 Million in Series B Round

Social analytics firm Dataminr announced on Monday that it closed a series B round of venture funding, adding $13 million in capital on top of the $3.5 million raised previously. The company uses its access to Twitter’s full Firehose of continuously flowing data to isolate and predict events and trends, with a particular emphasis on the financial and governmental sectors. Dataminr will use the capital injection on technology and client acquisition.
