BoomTown Prediction: Chasing Away the Mice (And Keyboards Too)

The Washington Post, where I once toiled, asked me to do a short piece recently for a spring-cleaning feature in its Outlook section. It was titled “Twelve Things the World Should Toss Out,” and BoomTown’s choice was physical computer keyboards and mice. Before you go all technical on me, be warned: I wrote the piece on an Apple iPad with a virtual keyboard and touchscreen. And frankly, if I could have all my blog posts downloaded directly from my noggin, it would be okay by me.

Another Googler Goes to AOL: YouTube Boss Dave Eun Replaces Bill Wilson as Content Boss

Former Google sales boss Tim Armstrong has brought a slew of former colleagues with him to AOL, but this may be his highest-profile hire so far: Dave Eun, who has been in charge of content deals at Google and YouTube, will replace Bill Wilson, one of the last high-profile AOL guys from the pre-Armstrong era.

Kara Visits "The Future of the Internet" Book Party!

This past Saturday night, BoomTown attended the tony San Francisco book party for Jonathan Zittrain’s new book, “The Future of the Internet–And How to Stop It.” It was hosted by megablogger Arianna Huffington and Melanie Ellison, an old friend of Zittrain’s from high school, as it turned out. And BoomTown took our Flip video camera, of course!
