Doctors Launch TheNNT.com to Give Treatment Info

Conveying how well a therapy works–and doing so in understandable terms–isn’t easy, but a group of physicians is trying to change that. Their new website, TheNNT.com, looks at a stat called the “number needed to treat,” which it defines as “a measurement of the impact of a medicine or therapy [that estimates] the number of patients that need to be treated in order to have an impact on one person.”

It's Official: S.F. Requires Stores to Post Cellphone Radiation Levels

San Francisco will require retailers to post information about the radiation produced by different cellphone models. We wrote about this issue two weeks ago, when the Board of Supervisors was last scheduled to vote on the new requirements. That vote was delayed after one member of the board asked for more time to suss out any liability issues such a rule might create.

800,000 Doctors Warned About Stolen Personal Information

Hey, docs: Someone stole your data. The Blue Cross Blue and Blue Shield Association is warning about 800,000 doctors (nearly every practicing physician in the country) that a laptop containing some of their personal information was stolen, the Chicago Tribune reports.
