Local.com Acquires Krillion's Local Product Information for $3.5 Million

Local.com, which operates a search engine that returns results based on a user’s location, has acquired Krillion for $3.5 million in cash. Founded in 2006 and based in Mountain View, Calif., Krillion aggregates local information, including a database of products that are available in stores locally. As retailers increasingly seek to connect online and offline shopping experiences, the space has heated up. Late last year, eBay acquired Milo for similar purposes. Krillion had raised at least $9.1 million from Leapfrog Ventures and Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, peHUB reports.
