Oracle's Ellison: Pay King

Larry Ellison, founder and chief executive of software maker Oracle Corp., topped the list of best-paid executives of public companies during the past decade, receiving $1.84 billion in compensation, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis of CEO pay. Coming in No. 2 on the compensation list was Barry Diller, who received roughly $1.14 billion from IAC/InterActive and Expedia.com, the online travel site IAC spun off in 2005, where he remains chairman.

Diller on AOL: No Thanks

Barry Diller, IAC’s chief executive, said Wednesday that he’s not interested in acquiring AOL after the Internet business is spun off from its parent company, Time Warner. “I have no interest in purchasing AOL, but there are kinds of alliances that are possible for us,” Diller said at an investor conference in New York. “Those maybe will happen, or maybe they won’t happen.”

IAC/Interactive Q1 Revs Beat, EPS Misses; Fat Cash Pile

IAC/Interactive this morning posted Q1 revenue of $332 million, down 10 percent from a year ago, but a bit above the consensus at $329.7 million. However, the company lost two cents a share in the quarter on an adjusted basis, worse than the Street estimate for a break-even quarter.

IAC/Interactive Sells ReserveAmerica to Active Network

IAC/Interactive today announced a deal to sell ReserveAmerica, its campground reservation service, to the participatory sports site The Active Network in a stock deal.

Mobile marketing network 4INFO plans to announce Thursday that it has received $20 million in venture funding led by Peacock Equity, a joint venture between NBC Universal and GE Commercial Finance’s media, communications and entertainment business.

John Malone Quietly Dumps IAC Shares

Why has John Malone been dumping shares of IAC/InterActiveCorp in the past two weeks?
