Former FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz to Join Davis Polk

Jon Leibowitz, former chairman of the Federal Trade Commission, will join Davis Polk and Wardwell as a partner, the law firm announced Monday. Leibowitz left the FTC in February, and will join Davis Polk’s antitrust team advising primarily in the area of privacy law.

Microsoft’s Andy Lees Exits VP of Corp Dev Role

Andy Lees, Microsoft’s vice president of corporate strategy and development, will be stepping down from the position he has held for the past seven months. Lees plans to go on sabbatical to return to his family in the United Kingdom, and will announce his new position at Microsoft later in the summer. Previous to his corp dev role, Lees lead the Windows Phone team, and has held positions in worldwide sales and marketing, and the server and tools divisions. Managing director Marc Brown will lead corp dev, while Charlie Songhurst will remain head of strategy; both will report to Amy Hood.

Twitter Principal Designer Josh Brewer to Depart

Josh Brewer, principle designer at Twitter for nearly three years, announced Wednesday he will soon leave the company to “pursue his own thing.” Brewer worked on a number of key initiatives during his years on Twitter’s design team (led most recently by Mike Davidson), where he focused primarily on product, according to his LinkedIn profile.

HP Names Heiko Meyer New Enterprise Head in Germany

Tech giant Hewlett-Packard is shaking up management of its enterprise operations in Germany. Last week, the company announced internally that it had named Heiko Meyer as VP of HP’s Enterprise group in that country. He replaces Volker Smid, who had held the post since 2009 and is leaving HP. Meyer, who joined HP in 1984, will report to Peter Ryan, who was named to run HP’s Enterprise business in Europe last year, after a wider reorganization.
