Verizon Creates New Enterprise Unit Spanning Its Wireless and Wireline Chasm

Verizon Communications has run its wireline business separately from Verizon Wireless (which is a joint venture 45 percent owned by Vodafone). On Wednesday, however, it announced plans for a new enterprise unit that will combine efforts aimed at large businesses and be headed by John Stratton, who has been chief operating officer for Verizon Wireless.
