Rubinstein and McNamee: Remaking Palm

What a wonderful curative the Palm Pre has proven to be for Palm. Especially considering that the device has yet to ship. In early January of this year, the company’s shares were trading below $3, having been dragged deep into the mud by a string of nasty quarterly losses. Five months later, after the Pre’s announcement at CES, they’re trading at over $10.

AT&T’s Pre Envy

AT&T is very happy to be the exclusive carrier of the iPhone in the states, but it wouldn’t mind selling the Palm Pre too. Asked at the D7 conference today if he might like to add the forthcoming device to AT&T’s handset lineup, AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson said he would, but Palm’s exclusive deal with Sprint prevents that.
