Viacom Inc. said Thursday Judy McGrath is resigning from her post as chief executive of its MTV Networks unit, giving the company’s top executives more direct control of some of its biggest assets.

Viacom Lays Off 850, Takes $450 Million Charge

It says the cuts will save it up to $250 million next year. The cuts will go into effect this month and will be spread throughout the company.
