Viral Video: The JaneDear Girls Hook Up With the Lip-Synch Phenom on YouTube

BoomTown is officially voting for the JaneDear Girls, after seeing the hot country duo’s effective use of Keenan Cahill, a.k.a. the weird little lip-synch dude on YouTube. While the pair–Susie Brown and Danelle Leverett–have been rocketing up the country charts with their self-titled debut album, they delivered a rap-style offering, called “Need Ya Vote,” using the odd Cahill’s talents.

Logitech Delaying New GoogleTV, Too–Report

Google has reportedly told some of its partners to hold off introducing new versions of Google TV. So this one at least sounds right: Google has supposedly told Logitech to stop shipping its version of the Google TV box while Google upgrades the software. The catch: This report comes from DigiTimes, which is sometimes quite accurate about the Chinese supply chain for consumer electronics, but also misses the mark with some frequency

AT&T’s Q1: 2.7 Million iPhones, 1.9 Million New Subs and a Nasty Charge

Reporting first-quarter earnings this morning, AT&T said it added 1.9 million new wireless subscribers during the period. It was the biggest first-quarter gain in the company’s history and an impressive achievement, but it was undermined by a large health-care expense. A $995 million charge related to the new federal health-care law dragged AT&T’s first-quarter earnings down 21 percent.

Earlier this week, BoomTown visited MySpace HQ in Beverly Hills, Calif., to interview its new co-presidents, Michael Jones and Jason Hirschhorn, and get a look-see at its evolving revival plans to stop the social networking ship from sinking further. Thus, I did a video tour of a storyboard-like room at MySpace, where the team is trying to formulate the “discover and be discovered” motto it is now using, which is pretty much its old motto restated. Can the old become new again?
