Apperian, Enabler of iPhones and iPads for the Enterprise, Lands $9.5 Million

Companies want to build their own iPad and iPhone apps for internal use, but don’t want to use the iTunes App Store to distribute and manage them. Enter Apperian, which offers secure internal app stores for enterprises, and has landed an investment from North Bridge, Bessemer and the Kleiner Perkins iFund.

Another Mobile Payments Provider Raises Venture Capital

Boston-based Paydiant has raised $7.6 million ahead of launching its mobile payment services later this year. The first round was led by North Bridge Venture Partners and General Catalyst Partners. It’s unclear what part of the value chain the company will play in, but the co-founders Chris Gardner, Kevin Laracey and Joe Paratore, have all worked at payment companies before, including edocs and m-Qube.

The Andover, Mass.-based company, which has received funding from Matrix Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners, specializes in social-networking technology and saw the Apple device as a good showcase for what it can do.
