Orchestra, the to-do list app that never took off but helped inspire its creators to make Mailbox, the innovative mobile email client now owned by Dropbox, is going away. It will effectively stop working September 6, the company said in an email to users today.
News ByteAny.DO today launched a slick Android app to help users create and share to-do lists with family and friends. It’s quite similar to the app Orchestra for iOS (both companies say they’re developing for the other platform too; Any.DO users can also share tasks via email or SMS). Tel Aviv-based Any.DO had previously created Taskos, an Android to-do list app with 1.3 million users. Any.DO raised $1 million last year from investors including Eric Schmidt’s Innovation Endeavors, Genesis Partners and Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale.
News ByteOrchestra, which calls its iPhone and Web productivity and collaboration app “group chat disguised as a to-do list,” has raised $5 million in funding less than two months after it launched (we broke the news here). The new funding for the Palo Alto, Calif.-based company led by Apple and Ideo alums comes from Charles River Ventures and SV Angel.
