Verizon Upholds Tradition of Bumpy iPhone Launch

AT&T must be snickering into its cornflakes this morning. Verizon began taking pre-orders for the forthcoming CDMA iPhone this morning and is suffering some of the same issues for which AT&T has been taken to task in the past (though not nearly as severe).

Launch Day iPads Sold Out

Perhaps those claims that Apple will sell more iPads in the first three months than it sold original iPhones in the same period aren’t so far off. As of this morning, Apple has run out of launch-day Wi-Fi-only iPads.

NYC iPhone Fraud Epidemic Solved! AT&T Web Site Selling iPhones to New Yorkers Again.

Looks like AT&T has gone and “modified its promotion and distribution channels” again. Either that or the carrier has a better handle on the “online fraudulent activity” that prevented it from selling Apple’s iPhone online to customers with New York City zip codes. The econalypse and the job losses and lower housing starts it’s brought with it are having a nasty effect on Comcast’s bottom line. And according to CEO Brian Roberts, that’s not going to change any time soon. “It’s still a scary time,” he said in remarks at Sanford Bernstein’s 25th annual Strategic Decisions Conference in New York.
