According to some lines of code secreted away within webOS, Palm has at least one more handset in the pipeline–the so-called Eos (codename: Pixie). And while no one seems to know when it will arrive at market, there’s speculation today that we’ll see it by November, right in time for the winter holidays.

Palm’s Michael Abbott delivered more than just the keyonote at Web 2.0 Expo. But not that much more. Absent from his remarks Wednesday evening was any news about the price of Palm’s forthcoming Pre handset or a hard-and-fast release date–two bits of information the industry has been pining for since the device was first announced in January.

This just in from the N.S. Sherlock Institute for the Bleeding Obvious: Palm’s new bet-the-company operating system, webOS is intended as a replacement for, not an alternative to, its embarrassingly antiquated Palm OS. Speaking at the Thomas Weisel Technology & Telecom Conference today, Palm CEO Ed Colligan said the company won’t release any more Palm OS-based products after the Centro hits end-of-life.
