Yes, it is perverse, but I really want to come in dead last in Time magazine’s “140 Best Twitter Feeds.”
Why? Well, there’s no way I am getting near the top with the likes of Sarah Palin and Lady Gaga in the same list, so I felt the 140th–
get it?–slot on a Twitter poll is the next best thing to aim for.

Legal threats aren’t new for Gawker Media. But usually they’re about much more popular stories. Nick Denton’s audience, it seems, isn’t that interested in advance snippets of “America By Heart”.

On Tuesday, Sarah Palin posted a note on Facebook opposing plans to build a mosque near Ground Zero. On Thursday, the post disappeared. That shouldn’t have happened, say Facebook officials, who issued an apology and oblique
explanation: “The note in question did not violate our content standards but was removed by an automated system. We’re always working to improve our processes and we apologize for any inconvenience this caused.” It’s
back up now.

One of the better bits on her terrific show, “My Life on the D List,” is comic Kathy Griffin’s fake boyfriend, Levi Johnston.
As in, baby father to Sarah Palin’s grandchild. Johnston and the Palins had been on the outs, until it was announced this week in a turnabout that he was now engaged to Bristol Palin, the baby’s mother.
Never to miss an opportunity, Griffin naturally fakes breakup heartache, using Johnston’s nude cover shoot from Playgirl as a prop.

Last week, Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart spoofed Fox News’s Glenn Beck in a blackboard parody almost as good as Tina Fey’s spot-on impression of Sarah Palin on “Saturday Night Live.”
The conservative pundits seem to be the online comedy gift that keeps on giving.
