Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Gear Smartwatch Available Through Sprint October 4

Samsung’s next-gen phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, will be available through Sprint starting Oct. 4. Sprint says that Note 3 buyers will be eligible for the carrier’s unlimited data plan, but keep in mind that the 5.9-inch Android 4.3 phone costs $350 with a two-year contract. Also launching through Sprint that day: Samsung’s smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear. The $300 watch has a 1.6-inch display, a 1.9-megapixel camera, and pairs with the Note 3 to make calls, show notifications, and control other aspects of the phone.

Nokia Lumia 925 Coming to AT&T Customers for $99, Starting September 13

One of Nokia’s newest smartphones, the Lumia 925, will be available to AT&T customers starting Sept. 13, for $99 with a two-year wireless contract. Preorders begin tomorrow. The Windows 8-based, 4.5-inch metal-and-polycarbonate smartphone has some of Nokia’s advanced camera technologies, such as the Nokia Pro Camera app and some manual camera controls, but does not have the same large 41-megapixel sensor as Nokia’s top-of-the-line 1020. The Lumia 925 is already available to T-Mobile customers.
