Hulu LLC will begin streaming TV shows from Spanish-language broadcaster Univision Communications Inc. later this year, the companies said Wednesday.

Amazon to Acquire Online Retailer BuyVip

Amazon.com Inc. has reached an agreement to buy the Spanish internet retailer BuyVip for around €70 million ($96.5 million), a person close to the matter said Monday, as the company seeks to break into premium online retail. The deal will be announced this week, the person added. BuyVip offers overstock items from brands like Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton or Levi’s for steep discounts.

YouTube Tax Tips From the IRS

Taxpayers looking for advice might be only a YouTube clip away. The Internal Revenue Service recently unveiled their YouTube channel, irsvideos. The 12 videos have information about claiming recovery rebate credits and other tax tips. “It’s another way for us to get information out to taxpayers,” says Terry Lemons, a spokesperson for the IRS.

The New York Times Gets Out of the Radio Business, Collects $45 Million

The New York Times is getting out of the radio business. Did you know the New York Times was in the radio business? Exactly. Anyway, now it’s not. The cash-strapped publisher has sold WQXR-FM for $45 million, carving up the asset into two packages for different buyers–local NPR affiliate WNYC and Spanish-language broadcaster Univision Radio. The money will go to paying down the paper’s debt: Not much, but more than the company may get for the Boston Globe.

Kara Visits FriendFeed (Now in Six New Languages)!

This morning, FriendFeed, which is a kind of content delivery version of Twitter, went international, launching in six new languages–German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Russian and simplified Chinese. Now live, the move is a natural extension for the Mountain View, Calif.-based start-up–founded earlier this year by a small gang of ex-Googlers, who joined together to create a service for super-aggregating updates of all kinds for social-networking and news items in an ongoing feed.
