Maybe it’s just me, but is this video from Microsoft, featuring “Chet”–the software giant’s “creative presentation consultant” for the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week–freaky or not?

It’s a Zen-style joke, of course, but what is the sound of one hand clapping?

CEO Steve Ballmer will be giving his usual keynote speech on Wednesday night and is about as anti-Chet as it gets.

Here is yet another video spoofing the spooky trailer for “The Social Network”–the movie about the origins of Facebook and the machinations of its co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

And it is actually very funny, because it is about an online shipping marketplace site, uShip, which somehow works with the social networking site’s plot. Plus it uses uShip’s execs well.

Here the WikiLeaks leader comments on Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg recently beating him out for Time magazine’s Person of the Year.

The faux Assange is not happy that social networking beat out classified documents.

This skit–the third so far–seems to be getting funnier each time:

Here is a video that spoofs a video online retail giant Amazon made recently for its Amazon Studios.

Under the new program, Amazon will hand out $2.7 million annually to filmmakers for development. It will also provide a platform on the site to put their work, which others can review and even revise.

In other words, easy to make fun of by Hollywood types. Thus, while its language is a little strong, you’ll get the point pretty quickly.

Except to note that this spoof of popular smartphone app characters at war–in this case, the Angry Birds and Evil Pigs–from an Israeli comedy show on television is very, very funny.

The folks over at College Humor have completely nailed this one, in a spoof video titled: “If Other Directors Made ‘The Social Network.’”

In BoomTown’s critical estimation, it is much better than the original movie about the Silicon Valley social networking giant, especially the Christopher Guest version, pictured above.

Here’s another spoof music video, titled “Don’t Stop Competing,” shown at the Web 2.0 Summit conference in San Francisco today, using the go-to classic song “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey.

It’s from investment banker Terry Kawaja, who goes by the stage name “L. McDuff.”

The video makes fun of the increasing competition and rancor between and among the various power players of Silicon Valley these days–from Google to Apple to Facebook.

Personally, BoomTown thinks a better song might be Kenny Loggins’s “Danger Zone” (which I also embedded below).

The new Google Instant search feature is irksome to an oldster like BoomTown, but I can certainly see why the ADHD kids would love it.

And, apparently, so do makers of viral videos, with regard to the Silicon Valley search giant’s innovation.

Here are two out there, using the just-launched service in conjunction with music, much as Google (GOOG) did in its own version using Bob Dylan, also below.

The first uses the go-to Internet spoof song–Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire.”

The clips from the 2010 Emmy Awards went up fast and furious all over the Internet last night, almost as soon as the acts were performed live on Sunday evening from Los Angeles.

That especially includes the one below from the opening, in which MC Jimmy Fallon enlists an odd mix of celebs, some from the cast of the television hit “Glee” for a take-off on, yes, “Glee.”

While NBC’s online site was not so quick with the clips from the broadcast–although it eventually had many–others were, which is pretty much how these events go now.

Here is the opener video, along with another of Fallon bidding goodbye to “24″ and “Law & Order,” a very funny spoof with the cast of the superb “Modern Family” and a Twitter shout-out by Fallon:

Here’s yet another spoof of the trailer for “The Social Network”–a.k.a. The Facebook Movie–subbing in Twitter as the villainous Web 2.0 company.

It’s called “The Twit Network,” and it is very funny.

Best line: “I need to create a way to blog that is as random and incoherent as writing on a bathroom wall.”

It follows a spoof trailer on YouTube called “The Video Website,” which includes the wonderful line “The keyboard cat wants more money.”

Enjoy until the next one (along with the YouTube one and a spoof of the Facebook Movie trailer about Facebook):

Which means they’ll likely disappear from the Web sooner than later*, so watch ’em while you can:

*Guess it’s possible this is a clever hoax, too. It’s on the Web, right? But who would go out of their way to tell a reporter a lie?

It was inevitable, I suppose, that the highly stylized trailers for the upcoming movie “The Social Network” would be ripe for mocking.

The full trailer from Sony (SNE) film unit Columbia Pictures, released last week, uses a creepy Vega Choir version of the Radiohead song “Creep,” and has all kinds of dramatic flourishes–making it perfect for spoofs.

Here are three, from: 1938 Media (in which co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is played by a 2×4 piece of wood); from Australian comic Dan Ilic; and one that’s not exactly a trailer, but is the interview Walt Mossberg and I did at the eighth D: All Things Digital conference with Zuckerberg set to “Creep” (it oddly enough works).

The first full trailer is at the bottom for comparison.

Oh, that scamp John Mayer is such a jokester.

Here’s a spoof video the singer did in the wake of all the controversy around the basketball star choosing Miami to play for and leaving behind a dejected and angry Cleveland.

Big surprise, given his promiscuous reputation: Mayer will play his music for everyone.

As promised, All Things Digital is posting the full videos from our eighth D: All Things Digital conference, held earlier this month.

Doo…doo…doo…doo–Yes, that’s the sound that makes us think of NPR CEO Vivian Schiller (pictured here).

At D8, the former New York Times (NYT) digital exec delivered a riveting interview, talking about the future of radio, the prospects for high-quality journalism and the ways the public radio unit could help create a more powerful network of many stations.

Here’s the full video of the session with me, as well as a very funny spoof video Schiller brought about some of the more way-out digital initiatives for NPR below it:

Here’s a very funny iPhone 4 spoof by take180.com’s Electric Spoofaloo that just went up on the Web.

The new version of the popular Apple (AAPL) smartphone was just unveiled today by CEO Steve Jobs at its Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco.

Called “Mac vs. Jane Lynch,” the spoof features BoomTown’s pal and “Glee” star–congrats to you and Lara on the hitching, btw!–and comic Kassem G.

Best line: “Hey pal, you dropped a call.”

The idea of filling in the blank for a trio of photos of the pair of tech legends is a really interesting way to do crowd-sourced comics.

But some efforts, as you will see, are funnier than others (and many are simply juvenile, which is par for the course with these social group efforts).
