Geek-tastic! Twitter Queen Kim Kardashian Reportedly to Wed at Eric Schmidt’s SoCal Estate (Or at Kleiner Partner’s Luxe Crib).

Here’s a delicious juxtaposition you don’t get often: Various reports indicate that reality show empress Kim Kardashian’s upcoming wedding to New Jersey Nets basketball player Kris Humphries will be held at either the Montecito estate of Google’s Executive Chairman and former CEO Eric Schmidt or that of a VC legend.

BoomTown on TWiT: You Can't Say No to Oprah!

No, you may not, and that’s what I said on Leo Laporte’s terrific “This Week in Tech” online show last Sunday about why Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced his recent $100 million donation to schools in Newark, New Jersey, on the same day as the splashy Hollywood movie–”The Social Network”–eviscerating him premiered. Because the powerful television talk show host wanted him on that week, since she was focusing on education reform! And what Oprah Winfrey wants, Oprah Winfrey gets–which is pretty much my motto for life. Here’s the video.

Viral Video: It's Co-nan!

Earlier this year, the travails of late-night television talk show host Conan O’Brien and his epic battle with the inept suits at NBC became a gold mine of Internet-fueled comedy mayhem. Well, Team Coco is back in November on TBS, and it has a name.

Exclusive: Tyra Banks Picks Demand Media as America’s Next Top Digital Business Model

Well-known modeling icon Tyra Banks has struck a partnership with Demand Media to create a new digital content brand focused on fashion and beauty. The deal between the Santa Monica-based digital content maker and Banks’ Bankable beauty and entertainment company will include the development of a Web site, online video offerings and mobile applications.

Viral Video: Friggin' "Twilight"

“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” had its premiere last night in Los Angeles, with legions of screamy fans lying in wait for days to catch a glimpse of the stars of the film. The third movie in the series will be in theaters next Wednesday. But here’s a better–and much funnier–choice: A spoof of the sparkly vampire movie by the cast of “Jersey Shore.”

Viral Video: Bieber Yourself–There's an iPhone 4 App for That!

NBC’s “Late Night” television talk show host Jimmy Fallon is pretty geeky, which is why he tried this sketch about new apps for the new Apple iPhone 4. Some are funnier than others, but BoomTown liked the “Bieber Yourself” app, inspired by the teen music heartthrob whose unfortunate haircut is well worth mocking.

Viral Video: The NBC Late-Night Bonfire Singes "American Idol"

Yesterday, BoomTown posted on the mess created by NBC over its late-night talk show wrangling and all the good online videos that have resulted. The fracas involves Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien and seemingly every dude who sits behind a desk and kisses up to celebrities for a living. Leno is still on a slow burn over the debacle, even as daytime talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres enters the brouhaha being created by Simon Cowell leaving “American Idol” just as she joins the show as a judge. And that means more videos!

Unlike Oprah, Letterman Does Not Even Pretend to Like–Or Even Know–Twitter

Here’s a priceless video segment from David Letterman’s “Late Show” last night, as he is taught how to use Twitter by actor Kevin Spacey. After asking how much it costs and noting that he could get anyone on Manhattan’s 57th Street to say hello just as much as Spacey could get tweets from his 800,000 followers, Letterman officially declares Twitter a “waste of time.” Perhaps so, but it also makes for great talk-show schtick.
