PlugShare Aims to Crowdsource Electric Car Charging

Brother, can you spare an outlet? That’s the concept behind PlugShare, an electric vehicle sharing network that is launching on Monday. The Palo Alto startup lets electric vehicle owners connect with those willing to lend some power via an iPhone app. The idea is to lessen the fears that one won’t have enough electricity to make longer-range trips. However, it remains to be seen just how many people are willing to share their juice.
