News ByteSmarterer has raised $1.75 million in Series A funding from investors including True Ventures and Google Ventures. Smarterer’s Microsoft Excel test has been taken more than 42,000 times, and all together users have answered more than 10 million questions so far.

Assistly helps companies manage customer service through various channels like Facebook, Twitter, chat, email and phone, and is a competitor to Zendesk. That marks the third (and biggest) acquisition in one day for Assistly investor True Ventures: WeGame was bought by Tagged and VodPod assets were bought by Lockerz.
