Spammy Worm Spreads Across Tumblr Web Sites

A malicious worm made its way through thousands of Tumblr-hosted Web sites Monday morning, possibly started by a notorious trolling hacker outfit that claimed responsibility. Users who click on infected Tumblr sites are spammed with a flood of racist messages. At approximately 10:27 am PT, a Tumblr spokeswoman told AllThingsD: “Tumblr engineers have resolved the issue of the viral post attack that affected a few thousand Tumblr blogs earlier today. Thank you for your patience.”
