Twitter Acquires Mobile App Software Startup Crashlytics

Twitter has acquired Crashlytics, the company announced Monday, a crash reporting service that mobile apps use to gather data on software bugs. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Though Twitter has acquired the small startup outright, the team will continue to run its bug reporting software service for outside companies. It’s worth noting that this is the second company Twitter has acquired that will continue offering services post-acquisition. (The first, of course, being Vine.)

Days After Twitter’s Vine Launch, Facebook Adds In-App Video Capture

Not more than a handful of days after Twitter launched its Vine video-sharing app, Facebook updated its main iOS application on Monday, adding the ability to capture and add video from inside the app. While the timing is curious, it’s still a relatively incremental update; the Facebook Messenger app received voice message capabilities earlier this month, a feature that has also been added to the main Facebook app as of Monday.
