Google: Does It Really Want to Win Spectrum Auction?

Interesting take late today from UBS Internet analyst Benjamin Schachter on Google’s (GOOG) strategy for bidding in the upcoming FCC auction of 700 MHz spectrum. Schachter notes that the deadline for filing an application for the auction is Monday. He notes that the filers will be able to comment, or even confirm if they have applied to bid. The actual auction starts Jan. 24; the names of the bidders will be disclosed 10 days before that.
