Android Share Climbs in Smartphone Market
The latest comScore data on the smartphone market shows Google’s Android platform continuing to gain share at the expense of the other major competitors. In the March-to-May period, Android registered a 13 percent share, four points up from the previous three months, while leaders RIM (41.7 percent), Apple (24.4 percent) and Microsoft (13.2 percent) all slipped a bit. Still, notes comScore, all boats are being lifted by the rising smartphone tide.
