Motorola Acquires 280 North

Motorola has acquired 280 North, developer of the Cappuccino open-source application framework. The terms of the deal, which Motorola says was inked earlier this summer, weren’t disclosed, but some reports put 280 North’s value at about $20 million. Said a Motorola spokesperson, “We believe 280 North will be instrumental in helping us continue to foster the Android ecosystem with innovative web-based technologies and applications.”
