Toshiba’s New Tablet: Success or Faileo?
Add Toshiba to the list of consumer-electronic manufacturers developing a tablet for Google’s Android OS. The device, which is to be called the Folio 100, will run Android 2.2 (Froyo) and will feature a 10.1-inch multitouch display, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor and support for Flash. Initially, it’s to be Wi-Fi-only, though the company is considering a second model with 3G support. The Folio 100 will debut in Europe, the Middle East and Africa by year-end. No word yet on a U.S. launch.
