Conan Releases Even More Offensive Groupon Commercial–Oh the Frugality!

Now that Conan O’Brien is joking about Groupon’s Super Bowl commercial, maybe people can start to relax.

But yesterday, the Internet was up in arms about Groupon’s commercial, which uses the situation in Tibet to sell a half-price plate of fish curry. The Chicago daily-deals site has since pulled the spot and backpedaled, saying it was also trying to raise donations for the cause but didn’t make it obvious enough.

Last night, Conan revealed an even more over-the-top version involving the Hindenburg disaster and a discount on a Blimpie’s sub sandwich. It ends with “Oh the Frugality.”
