RIM Launches Test of BlackBerry Protect Service
Research In Motion said on Saturday that it has launched a public test, or beta, of its BlackBerry Protect service, which lets users wireless backup, locate and restore a device, as well as remotely lock or wipe a lost device.
The BlackBerry Protect application is free and available in North America as well as Latin America, RIM said. Similar services are available on a number of other platforms, although costs and features vary somewhat.
