Spotify Cuts Back On Free Music In Europe, Still Waiting On U.S. Launch
Spotify’s party may not be over, but it’s going to get quieter: The streaming music service has cut back on the amount of free music it will offer users, from 20 hours to 10 hours a month. The move is a concession to the big music labels, who are still worried that the service cuts into their remaining CD sales. But it doesn’t seem to be tied to a U.S. launch, which won’t happen until the company signs on Universal Music Group, the world’s biggest music company.
