New Orleans Start-Up Accelerator Ignition Launches Six Companies

Launch Pad Ignition, a New Orleans-based start-up accelerator, is today presenting the six companies that are currently participating in its first seven-week mentorship program.

The Ignition program offers young start-ups up to $25,000 in funding, co-working space and advice on getting Louisiana tax credits.

Ignition is tied into the greater start-up ecosystem through its affiliation with TechStars and the White House’s Startup America initiative, and the program has attracted 30 or so early stage investors to fly in for its first Demo Day experience.

The six companies participating in Ignition aren’t necessarily from New Orleans, but they’ve been operating there for the duration of the program. They seem to lean toward tools offered as Web services, whether it’s hosting a database, selling films or airing live concerts. Here is the first Ignition class, as they describe themselves:
