Apple Is Probably Going to Have to Get Used to Amazon Appstore
Apple’s battle to prevent Amazon from using the term “app store” for its marketplace for Android apps may prove a losing one. During a Wednesday hearing, the judge presiding over the case said she will “probably” deny Apple’s request because of lack of evidence.
Evidently the judge feels Apple hasn’t proven Amazon’s use of the term has caused confusion among consumers.
“I’m troubled by the showing that you’ve made so far,” U.S. District Judge Phyllis Hamilton told Apple. “[And] that’s where you’re likely not to prevail at this early juncture.”
