PlayBook Cleared For Government Use

A rare bit of good news for Research In Motion in its battle for tablet market relevance. The BlackBerry PlayBook has earned its Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) Certification, making it the first tablet certified for deployment within U.S. government agencies under the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002. Great news for RIM — assuming FIPS certification actually spurs government sales.
